About Me
Juliette Aiyana
Treating People, Not Conditions Since 1991
Welcome! My name is Juliette Aiyana, founder of Aiyana Acupuncture & Chinese Herbs in NYC. I am a wife, mother, Nationally Board Certified acupuncturist, herbalist, activist, and nutrition author, in private practice as a natural healthcare practitioner since 1991. My passion drives me to teach and to write about all types of healthy stuff, about living a naturally fit and healthy lifestyle in body & mind, about instinctual mothering & attachment parenting, about optimal fertility, about health activism and about human rights. I’ve worked in the natural health profession for two decades, spending the past decade as a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine in NYC, in my practice,Aiyana Acupuncture & Chinese Herbs.
My career opened the pathway to teach workshops, to author a book, Chinese Medicine & Healthy Weight Management: An Evidence-Based Integrated Approach, to publish several professional journal articles, and to be interviewed for a bunch of cool magazines, podcasts, and other media.
Over the years, through teaching patients in my private practice and teaching workshops for professionals and families, I’ve learned that patients and students prefer to leave my office, or my seminar, with practical information that they can immediately integrate into life. Learning to take care of ourselves should be fun and active, so my teaching style is lively and interactive, incorporating group activities and learning games.
My education includes a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Florida Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine where I studied acupuncture, Chinese herbs, tui-na, Chinese nutritional therapy, as well as post-graduate nutritional studies though Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
At home in Brooklyn, NYC with my extraordinary husband and son, I dig laughter, music, cooking, eating, reading, dancing, naps, long walks, fashion, tattoos, changing my hair style like a mood ring, cultivating mindful awareness, art, culture, comic books and dreamin’ of writing one someday, yoga, Buddhist meditation, saaav-ooor-ing life.
